This term we are starting a new assignment brief based on the theme of colour for our client Tate Modern in London. For the assignment we will explore various different artists and art movements such as Constructivism, Bauhaus and Abstract Expressionism. We are working up to making a final bodice/top for the Tate Modern shop and a wacky final outfit for the opening night!

Here I looked at producing a mood board on the theme of colour at the start of the project to help inspire my ideas! I loved looking at some of the runway outfits and designers that have created these really wacky and eye-catching garments. I'm excited to explore many new techniques such as patchworking and tie dye, as well as develouping my design and sewing skills along the way.

I'm really excited to start this project and have felt really creativley inspired so far! What's really exciting to me in this project is that I feel it will be a great oppertunity for me to break out of my boundaries when it comes to design and fashion - we willl be exploring many abstract artists inc. Wassily Kandinsky and Paul klee, etc. and I'm hoping I can learn to become a lot more free and crazy when designing and making!
