DEVELOPMENT OF PORTFOLIO PAGES

In recent weeks I have been putting together more and more of my portfolio pages to work towards the December deadline.

In this blog post I wanted to share some of my favourite work I have produced for portfolio so far!

Sustainable Project

This is my sustainable project page, consisting of a fashion college (front and back), final garment studio image, mini fashion illustrations of design ideas, fabric samples of techniques used on my dress and my moodboard.

I love the continuity of colour scheme and style throughout this page, everingthing links so well together and samples give a physical representation how I created my sustainable garment.

I think the collage worked so well, especially since I've used techniques like appliqué as I could really well represent this through sticking and layering of paper.

The mini illustrations worked really well and have clearly been inspired by my moodboard, continually showing the through process throughout.

Dress Project

In my final architechture inspired dress project page, I have included a professional studio image of my garment, godet samples similar to those used in my dress, mood board and illustrations/design ideas, pleated peplum pattern and fabric swatches.

What I love about this page is how clearly it illustrated my theme of architecture; the pattern and godets adding dimension, structure and interesting shapes into the page style, illustrations capturing the architectural lines of my garment as well as the moodboard and swatched showing inspiration and ideas my work has drawn upon.

Skirt Project

For my skirt project page, I have included my moodboard, initial design ideas in the form of technical drawings, a sample of my own developed fabric and the scallops used, final garment images as well as the layplan and pleated pattern in the background.

I really like how visual my sample is and how it clearly and physically demonstrates techniques used in my final garment inc. tie dye and machine embroidery. I also think it was great to have included the pleat pattern as his took me a long time to calculate and make, so it's a good show of my pattern cutting skills as well as informing how u created the final skirt.

To fill out more white space I actually printed my skirt image a few times and layered them up once cut-out, which I think looked quite playful and effective.

I'm really pleased with how my portfolio is coming together so far and finding it really great to see all my finished work presented.

I can't wait to develop more pages ready for the hand-in.
