EXPLORING MOVEMENT AND COLOUR IN PHOTOGRAPHY

In this weeks photography lesson we had a go at creating our own composition and shoot in the studio. The idea was to start to look at how we can combine colour and movement to create interesting shots. The way in which we did this was to alter the shutter speed to higher levels in order to capture movements. We also in cooperated some of our colour garments and different bold colourful props to capture the eye in an image. We talked about moving the body in different interesting ways to create colour shapes and reflections on camera. This included things like jumping, running, walking, spinning, throwing something, etc. I really enjoyed this shoot and I think we got some interesting results!

I love the multiple different shadows and layers to the image here, depicting the movements of the body. It creates this really ephemeral feel.

We also played around with different effects such as temperature and changing of saturation/exposure etc. in order to alter out results. In the image above you can see a higher temperature has been applied which is really effective in bringing in more warm tones to the image.
