Get to know me!
Hey,
Welcome to my blog!
Hi I'm Louise, I'm seventeen years old and have just started studying Fashion and Textiles at Farnborough College of Technology. After a difficult year of ups and downs studying A levels in and out of lockdown, 2020 was most definitely a time of self-discovery for me. During the prolonged time at home I was able to tune back into my creativity and love for fashion, as well as developing own my personal style. I enjoyed spending a lot of my free time charity/thrift shopping, following fashion designers and influencers online as well as sewing and creating.
I’ve always been inspired and engaged with fashion from a young age - being a fan of Ariana Grande, I was always following and inspired by her unique, girly style and red carpet looks.
I’ve also enjoyed doing a lot of sewing - starting with simple projects such as bags and pillows, however I was always really excited about the idea of creating actual garments to wear. Some of my favourite designers include Vera Wang and Anna Molinari. I would describe my style as quite girly and 2000s inspired - I like to wear a lot of pinks and lilacs; floral prints as well as checks, etc.
More recently I've been really interested and excited by the idea of up-cycling old clothes into funky, more trendy and up-to-date styles! This also links into my interest in sustainability of fashion. I believe that fashion shouldn't have to be at the cost of our planet. I think upcycling and buying second hand is a great start. I hope that in the years to come sustainable fashion can become affordable and mainstream.
As part of my fashion course I will be writing and uploading weekly blogs in line with my class projects but also my own interests and experiences, etc. I'm really looking forward to the next few years of studying fashion and can't wait to develop and grow my skills as I go! I hope you enjoy following me and my fashion journey - I can't wait to see where this all takes me!
