LOOKBOOKS IN CAD

Louise Love

In this weeks CAD lesson we started to look at the concept of fashion lookbooks, gathering inspiration by looking at existing ones e.g. from Zara and other large fashion brands, exploring the common and key features that are included in them.

Identifying Key features of a look book:

Title page/front cover

Styles/outfits

Info about the Brand

Info about materials and production

Prices and product names

Color scheme/theme

Drawings

Videos

Collection name/season

Back cover

Brand identity / ethos

Slogan

Web link

We were then given a series of photos to organise into an arrangement whereby the pictures link nicley to one another across the format pages we created using Adobe indesign. Throughout this, we began to play around with format options and how we can design and make the lookbook our own to further lead onto creating our own individual ones.

I’m excited to continue to learn more about graphic design and look books in order to be able to utilise these skills for the presentation of my own fashion work!
