MAKING MY FIRST PORTFOLIO PAGE

Since the start of second year, we have begun to look at creating a portfolio to support university applications.

For my first page, I looked at presenting my pattern design visual recording work from the Liberty's project.

In order to create this page I looked at taking my final fabric designs collection (on the theme of flowers and plants) to then develop forward into collaged garment design ideas, inspired by the theme and shapes of flowers!

I felt the patterns I created for this portion of my assignment were my strongest, so this is what I wanted to showcase to universities.

To support the garment designs, I also wanted to include some of my visual research work into flowers and plants as well as my moodboard to show my inspirations and journey from concept to final designs.

When designing the collages, I also looked back on my research work from the project to highlight certain shapes and forms I could use to inspire the garment shapes!

I also included print-outs of the final patterns created alongside the designs, research and mood board to really showcase my creative work and show the focal point of this page (the pattern designs).

As a first page, I am really pleased with how this turned out as I feel it really represents a style unique to me as a designer, giving a strong starting point and vision to the university's I am applying to.
