In this weeks textiles lesson we have come together as a group to create a moodboard for our architecture group project. - From here we will then begin designing ideas for a series inspired by Zaha Hadid Architects.
For our moodboard and starting point, we decided on some of our favourite buildings and architecture that could work together and focused on deciding our colour theme of whites blacks and blue.
We then decided to refine this down to one building/image we will all design our ideas based upon.
For our final collection we have decided to create one showstopper garment, two going- out designs and two loungewear/more casual wear garments.
The idea of the collection is to create garments whereby the buyer is enticed into buying more items as they all work together really well.
A main focal point for our designs looks at the curvature in the architecture in the image and how we can recreate this, e.g. we have looked at adding horsehair into a hem or manipulating the fabric with pleats/pin tucks.
I’m really looking forward to developing these ideas further and curating a collection of design ideas that work together.
