MY FINAL ARCHITECHTURE DRESS

This week was hand-in for our final dress project inspired by the college architechture.

I decided to challenege myself to work with different fabrics such as a stretch nylon and white crepe. - My dress design consists of an aysymmetrical skirt with godets, a top with panelled princess seams, a pleated puplum and an exposed zipper. For my colour theme I decided to work with primarily whites and silvler, as well as a hint of black for contrast effects.

Reel from instagram showing the making process of my dress:

I really enjoyed our first architechture project and am really looking foward to our group project next, which also looks at architechture as the main theme!

I think the colour scheme of my dress worked really well and I liked how the zipper tape and exposed silver teeth also tied into the theme. The silver pannels worked really well to create a layered effect, inspired by architechture I'd seen around college; - the choice of silver fabric also really helped convey a metallic feel, which is what I was really going for. I like the asymmetric skirt and deep v neck - for me, the architechture project was all about exploring different ways of creating texture, depth and dimension.

Although there were a few improvements that could've been made, such as the sewing in of the peplum and the sizing of the side bodice pannels, I a still rwally pleased with this project and how I was a ble to bring my design into reality!
