Over the last few lessons of computer aided design we have been looking at the basics of Photoshop and experimenting with some of the tools.
In this weeks lesson we looked at how to use the lasso tool and magic wand tool in order to cut out and manipulate images to create a collage. The collage I've created is inspired the the bold, bright colours and unique trends of the early 2000s. More recently, the 2000s have been coming back into style encouraged through pop-culture e.g. the y2k trends on Instagram/tiktok and the recent popularization of thrifiting (buying second hand). The 2000s trends are perhaps said to have become so popular among gen Z perhaps through the sense of nostalgia - these trends reach back into gen Z's childhood, reminding us of those fun, care-free times.
I would say my style today is hugely influenced by the 2000s - I just think the vibrancy of colours and patterns are so fun and playful. I would also describe my styles as quite girly, which the 2000s really were with embellishments, halternecks, bright feminine pinks, etc.
I really enjoyed experimenting with my creativity digitally and can't wait to learn more about Photoshop! I found using the lasso tools and cutting out images was quite tricky in the beginning, but the more and more I practice the easier I found it!
