In computer aided design we have started looking at the concept of fashion flats in order to build up to eventually creating our own digitally.
We started by first creating some fashion flat sketches by hand, and I've learned that when working with fashion flats, sysmmetry is key! It's all about creating a design that can be directly and clearly communicated to the patternmaker/manufacturer, and what better way to do this than digitally to achieve technical accuracy!
Fashion flats are so importatnt in the industry and I think learning to be able to create my own will be such a good skill to have, especially with the growing impact of technology in our daily lives.
I'm looking foward to learning how to transform my hand-drawn designs into digital outputs in next weeks CAD lesson!
